Reports from Sky News that a helicopter with 3 POB has crashed at Shoalwater Bay, North of Rockhampton. 1 person dead.
Shoalwater Bay is a Military training area, and 3 POB is the normal minimum crew for the S70-A9 Blackhawk operated by the Australian Army. The Kiowa is another Army helicopter that operates in this area on exercise, although during exercise 1 or 2 POB is the norm for reconnaissance.
Signs point towards this being a a military accident, but standby for details.
