Sunday 11th November 2012:

CCTV from adjacent to the Sao Paulo Congonhas airport has shown a Citation Jet III overrunning the end of the runway at very high speed, becoming airborne over an embankment and coming to a standstill just short of a busy road.

Smoke and flame can be seen engulfing the aircraft, which appeared badly damaged. Amazingly the two pilots were not killed (however, they were reportedly injured) and one passenger also survived.

It is yet to be determined what phase of flight the jet was involved in. An aborted takeoff late in the takeoff procedure appears to be a possibility.
