2 men have sustained serious injuries and a third has died at the scene of a Cessna 172 Crash at a country airstrip early this afternoon Australian time.

The aircraft was on approach to a private airstrip on the outskirts of the central Victorian city of Bendigo when it clipped a powerline on approach to land.

One man died at the scene and two others were airlifted to Melbourne for treatment.
